About Us

PROJECT EQUITY INTERNATIONAL began in 2006, when a small group of Toronto students decided to make a lasting difference. Since then, we have grown exponentially. We currently have projects running across the country and around the world, as well as an alumni base comprised of thousands of engaged youth.

Mission:
Project Equity supports and connects youth run social ventures as an umbrella group. We use a cooperative model that allows our members to leverage each other in order to maximize financial sustainability and social impact. Our members make every effort possible to use capital intentionally in alignment with our shared socio-economic and environmental values.

Vision:
We see a future where creating change is a common lifestyle. Our vision of social justice includes an empowered youth citizenry as a potent force for upholding the values of economic and environmental sustainability. Young leaders will emerge in all sectors, enabled by entrepreneurial skills and supporting infrastructure, to implement change in ways that are innovative, measurable and financially viable.

We envision a world that has long since done away with structural injustices and provides opportunities to those in need, so that the gross economic disparities of today are matters of history tomorrow.

Through redefining our relationships to each other and to our environment, and by initiating mutual exchanges of understanding across cultural lines, we will bring about a shift in paradigms towards a more just world.
